USDA FSIS has jurisdiction over all imported pork products. Shipments must come from FSIS-approved foreign establishments and are subject to reinspection at designated US ports of entry before they can enter commerce.
The heading splits first by temperature condition (fresh/chilled under 020311–020319; frozen under 020321–020329), then by cut type (carcasses, hams/shoulders with bone, and other cuts), and finally by processing status. Correct classification requires knowing both the physical form of the product and whether it has been processed as defined in the US tariff schedule notes.
