Where the numbers come from

Every import and export figure on this site originates from the U.S. Census Bureau international trade program, with services-trade figures from the Bureau of Economic Analysis. We never estimate, model or adjust a source value — what you see is what the agencies published, reorganized so it can be browsed by product, country, state, port and district. Some figures on the site are computed by us rather than published: year-over- year growth, the opportunity score, and the observed duty rate. Those are derived, and each one is documented.

Figures are updated monthly, following the Census release schedule. Duty rates shown are observed — collected duty divided by dutiable value — not statutory schedule rates, so they reflect what importers actually paid after trade agreements and exclusions. Full coverage and methodology.

How we make money

Reading the data is free with an account. We charge for alerts, saved analysis and bulk export, and companies pay to be listed in the trade directory. Three commitments that follow from that:

How we use AI
