Agricultural imports and exports from the U.S. Census Bureau USDA classification
Agricultural trade data is classified using the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) concordance, which maps individual product lines to agricultural or non-agricultural categories. This includes food products, cotton, wool, hides, natural rubber, wood, and other agricultural commodities across multiple HS chapters.
Agricultural products include food (HS chapters 01-24 covering meat, dairy, fish, cereals, beverages, and tobacco), cotton (chapter 52), wool (chapter 51), hides and skins (chapter 41), natural rubber, wood, natural fibers, oilseeds, fats, and oils. Some processed agricultural products in chemical and pharmaceutical chapters are also included. The classification is determined by the USDA and cannot be derived from HS codes alone.
