Importers sourcing farmed trout should verify whether the country of origin or specific foreign establishment is subject to any active FDA import alert, as affected shipments may be detained without physical examination under automatic detention procedures.

To support classification under the block line (0304821000), the commercial invoice and packing list should explicitly state that the fillets are skinned and that each frozen block weighs more than 4.5 kg. If the product is IQF, skin-on, or in blocks at or below 4.5 kg, it falls under the NESOI line (0304825000). Discrepancies between the declared subheading and the physical presentation are a common CBP examination finding for frozen fish fillets.
