Heavy reliance on Indonesian and Malaysian supply exposes importers to disruptions from export-levy changes, weather-related crop shortfalls, and ongoing CBP forced-labor enforcement actions targeting specific producers. Diversifying toward Colombian or Ecuadorian suppliers — both of which appear among top US sources — can reduce origin-concentration risk, though importers should verify that alternative suppliers also meet labor-compliance documentation standards.
