PFOS and its salts are subject to TSCA Section 5(a)(2) significant new use rules (SNURs), which require importers to submit a Significant New Use Notice to EPA before importing for most uses. Additionally, a TSCA import certification is required at entry. Given the complexity of PFOS restrictions, consulting EPA guidance and a licensed customs broker before shipment is strongly recommended.
Chloropicrin is a registered pesticide regulated by EPA under FIFRA. Importers must ensure the product is registered for its intended use in the US, and shipments may be subject to EPA review at the port of entry. It is also subject to DOT hazardous-materials transport regulations given its acute toxicity.
