Turbojet Engines

Turbojet engines may be controlled under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), depending on their thrust rating and intended use. Importers and re-exporters should verify the engine's ECCN or USML category before completing any transaction, as unauthorized transfers can trigger significant penalties.

Beyond standard commercial invoice and packing list requirements, used turbojet engines generally require an FAA Form 8130-3 airworthiness approval tag or equivalent foreign civil aviation authority documentation, along with maintenance records establishing the engine's service history. Engines from military surplus may face additional licensing requirements.
