A device that only prints and connects to a network but cannot copy or fax does not meet the multifunction threshold and would classify under a different heading.

Multifunction devices originating from certain countries are subject to Section 301 tariffs, with the applicable rate and any granted exclusions varying by the specific 10-digit HTS subheading. Importers should verify the current Section 301 list, check for product-specific exclusions, and confirm country-of-origin determinations — particularly for devices assembled in third countries using components from affected origins — before filing entry.
