Hydraulic Jacks & Hoists (NES)

A hydraulic floor jack is a portable device that raises a load by direct hydraulic pressure applied through a ram, while a hydraulic lift table uses a scissor or platform mechanism powered by hydraulics to elevate a work surface. Both can fall under 74443 if they are not built-in garage systems, but lift tables with conveyor or positioning functions may be classified under a different machinery heading. The intended use and mechanical design are the determining factors.

Because a large share of hydraulic jacks and hoists historically entered the US from China, Section 301 tariffs have added meaningful cost pressure for importers. Some distributors have responded by qualifying suppliers in Vietnam, Taiwan, or other origins, though country-of-origin rules require that substantial transformation occur in the claimed country — assembly alone in a third country using Chinese components may not suffice to change origin.
