Semimanufactured silver (710692) has been rolled, drawn, or otherwise worked into sheet, strip, foil, wire, or similar intermediate forms intended for further fabrication. The key test is whether the silver has undergone a shaping process beyond casting.

Silver plated with gold or platinum remains classified under heading 7106 as long as the base metal is silver. The plating does not change the classification to a gold or platinum heading. However, if the article is a base metal clad with silver, it would fall under heading 7107 instead.
