Certain elasmobranch species, including some rays, are listed under CITES Appendix II. Importers should confirm the species identity of their product with suppliers and check current CITES listings before importing, as a CITES-listed species would require export permits and a US Fish & Wildlife Service import declaration in addition to standard FDA admissibility review.
