Crude pomace oil is generally not suitable for direct human consumption without refining and deodorizing. Importers intending to use it in food applications must ensure it has been refined to food-grade standards before incorporation into products, and should consult FDA guidance on edible oil admissibility. Shipments destined for industrial (non-food) use should be documented accordingly.

The two lines — 1510101000 (under 18 kg) and 1510109000 (18 kg or over) — may carry different duty rates, so accurate declaration of net weight per container is essential. Importers should verify that the weight threshold is applied per individual container, not per total shipment, and consult a licensed customs broker if the shipment includes mixed container sizes.
