Goods only, Census basis: services such as travel and finance are excluded, so these figures differ from the headline balance that includes them (see U.S. services trade). Country figures cover a single month.
The trade balance is the difference between a country's exports and imports. When the U.S. imports more from a country than it exports, the result is a trade deficit. When exports exceed imports, there is a trade surplus.
This calculator uses monthly goods trade data from the U.S. Census Bureau. Values shown are for general imports and domestic exports of merchandise.
