Wet-spun linen yarn is drawn through water during spinning, producing finer, smoother, stronger yarn used in apparel and fine household textiles; dry-spun yarn is coarser and used in industrial or utility fabrics. Both types fall under this heading provided flax content is at least 85% by weight, but the distinction matters commercially for pricing, end-use declarations, and buyer specifications.

Once flax content falls below 85% by weight, the fabric moves to the under-85% flax heading (65442) or, depending on the predominant blending fiber, potentially to a different textile category altogether. Importers sourcing from mills that adjust blend ratios seasonally should request updated fiber analysis certificates with each shipment to avoid misclassification.
