TTB recognizes Scotch whisky as a distinctive product of Scotland and requires that labels accurately reflect the product's geographic origin, age statement (if used), and style (single malt, blended, etc.) in accordance with both TTB regulations and Scottish law. Any age statement must reflect the youngest whisky in the blend. A COLA must be obtained for each label before US commercial sale.
