Buyers specifying thread for industrial production should confirm that the filament type matches the application's performance requirements.

All imported textile articles, including sewing thread, must be marked with the country of origin in a conspicuous and permanent manner as required by the Tariff Act of 1930 and CBP regulations. For retail-packaged thread, the country of origin must appear on the consumer packaging. For bulk industrial thread, marking on the outer carton or cone label is generally required. Importers should confirm marking compliance with their supplier before shipment to avoid detention or relabeling costs at the port of entry.
