Glass Fiber Slivers, Rovings, Yarn, and Chopped Strands

The US has maintained antidumping and countervailing duty orders on certain glass fiber products from specific countries. The scope of each order is defined by product form and specification, so importers must verify whether their specific product — continuous roving, chopped strand, or yarn — and its country of origin fall within an active order's scope before entry. Rovings are bundles of continuous glass filaments wound without twist, used primarily in pultrusion, filament winding, and woven roving fabrics. Chopped strands are cut to short lengths (typically 3–25 mm) and used as reinforcement in injection-molded thermoplastics or spray-up processes. The distinction matters for both technical specification and tariff classification, as they may fall under different HTS subheadings.
