Importers should document the machine's primary marketed use and consult a customs broker when a unit integrates features that could point to multiple headings.

The tariff classification and applicable duty rate are determined by the article's physical characteristics, not its end-use destination (commercial gym versus home use). However, if the equipment meets the specifications of a different HTS heading — for example, professional-grade apparatus with distinct construction standards — that heading's rate would apply. End-use certificates do not alter classification under the standard tariff schedule.
