CBP generally defines broadwoven fabric as fabric produced on a loom of more than 30 cm (approximately 12 inches) in width. Fabric produced on narrower looms, or cut to narrow widths with selvages on both edges, falls under narrow fabric headings and carries different duty rates and classification rules.
Broadwoven fabrics of man-made fiber or certain cotton constructions originating in China may be subject to Section 301 tariffs in addition to the standard column 1 duty. Importers should verify the applicable HTSUS subheading and check the Section 301 product exclusion list, as exclusion status has changed over multiple review cycles.
